Lady Dragon Softball Cruises

The Lady Dragon Softball team faced both the Johnstown Lady Trojans and the Altoona Lady Mountain Lions. In both games, the Lady Dragons came out with astounding 16-4, and 12-2 victories.

Against Johnstown, the Lady Dragons started the game strong by bringing in five runs in the first inning. After scoring three more in both the second and third innings, as well as five more in the fourth, the game was a set victory for the Lady Dragons. Maya Hazenstab was three for three at bat, scoring four runs, with two RBIs, and with four stolen bases. Lacey Lynn was three for four with a home run and four RBIs.

Coach Burket said, “Despite not having two starters available for the game, it was an overall nice victory for the team.”

Against Altoona, the Lady Dragons had another strong start by bringing in three runs in the first inning, five runs in the second, and three more runs in the third. Another run in the sixth was game, set, and match for the Lady Dragons. Madison Kennedy had a home run, two doubles, and was the winning pitcher. Lynn was three for four at bat with a home run and four RBIs. Avery Black had three hits and scored three runs. Maya Hazenstab had two hits, two runs scored, and two RBIs.

The now 6-1 Lady Dragons will face the Westmont Hilltop Lady Hilltoppers, the Forest Hills Lady Rangers, the Somerset Lady Eagles, the Chestnut Ridge Lady Lions, and the Bishop McCort Lady Crushers in the upcoming week.
