Pastor Mark Halliday finished the Pittsburgh Marathon in 4 hours and 50 seconds, and raised over $3,000 for his missionary services.

The family of Harvey Kagarise, an area teacher who died in 1986, accepted the Spring Cove School District’s Leon E. Kensinger Memorial Award in his honor. Kagarise was born in Woodbury, Bedford County, in 1899. He started teaching in 1925 with certificates in science, math, social studies, and math. He taught for 40 years, retiring in 1964.
