James Butler, a worker in the paper mill, came within a fraction of losing his life on Thursday last. While adjusting a belt, he came in contact with the pulley and was pretty seriously shaken up. The escape from death was almost miraculous.

On Sunday night last, a dull thud was heard by some of the peaceful citizens of McKee, and as morning dawned, it was discovered that thieves had broken into the station and had tried the safe with dynamite but failed in accomplishing their purpose, only damaging the safe. $4.00 were the contents.
