Patrolman Snyder of the Roaring Spring Police force struggled in the back seat of a car with Charles E. Eicher of Cody, Wyoming, formerly of Roaring Spring, as the two were headed to the office of Justice of the Peace R. D. Lorenz for a hearing on non-support charges. Instead of following directions, Eicher, who was driving his own automobile, sped out of town and then stuck his hand in his shirt and told the police officer to put his hands up.
