ATV Accident Claims 9-Year-Old

A 9-year-old boy was killed on Saturday, April 30, when the ATV he was riding was hit by a car in Hopewell Township, Bedford County.

According to state police reports, the boy was attempting to cross Plank Road on a Kawasaki ATV from a private driveway, when he entered the path of a Nissan Altima traveling south on Plank Road.

Police said the boy, who was wearing a helmet, died instantly.

Police said the driver of the vehicle was not injured but a passenger reported minor injuries.
