NBC FBLA Shines At States

The Northern Bedford Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) chapter hasn't been able to attend an in-person state conference in two years, so it was great for them to get back to the "sweetest place on Earth" for the 2022 FBLA State Conference.

The club had 34 high school students participating in a wide range of competitive events. These events included taking tests, making presentations, giving speeches, participating in interviews, and more. Along with competing in the events, members were able to attend different workshops, view campaign booths from the prospective state officer team, view booths from multiple colleges and other businesses, and participate in an opening and closing session. At the closing session, the top ten in each competitive event were also announced and called on stage to be recognized.

For NBC, Jacob Sensenig placed second in Client Service, Alexandrea Griffith and Sensenig placed first in American Enterprise Project, and Makayla Hall placed seventh in Job Interview. Aleah Loose, Jaylyn Resh, and Avery Aungst placed first in Introduction to Business Presentation, and Chloe Wiedemann, Ava Helsel, and Jordyn Fouse placed sixth in Introduction to Social Media Strategies. Finally, Riley Cottle, Alexandrea Griffith, Emilee Koontz, Sierra Griffith, and Emma Clark placed ninth in Parliamentary Procedure.

Furthermore, NBC had eight groups that made it past the first round of presentations, or in the top 15 in the entire state of Pennsylvania. This is a huge accomplishment when considering that teams are competing from across the entire state, so congratulations to everyone in the NBC chapter on a job well done in all of their events.

The top four teams in each event also advanced to Chicago, Illinois for the National Conference at the end of June into July. For Northern Bedford, this includes Sensenig, Griffith, Resh, Loose, and Aungst. Matthew Hall will also be joining the American Enterprise team to compete.
