The History of Father's Day

 


Each year, the third Sunday in June is a time to thank fathers and other men who have stepped into the role of father.

Father’s Day didn’t become a nationally recognized holiday in the United States until 1972, when President Richard Nixon signed Joint Resolution 187.

Father’s Day in 2022 is celebrated on Sunday, June 19.
