Donald W. Pepple, 88, of Hollidaysburg, formerly of Woodbury, passed away May 3, 2022, at Altoona Hospital. He had been a resident at the Hollidaysburg Veterans Home since July 2021.

He was born June 21, 1933, in Woodbury, the son of the late Emmert and Dorothy (Over) Pepple. He was united in marriage to Patricia L. Pepple June 10, 1955, in Woodbury. His wife preceded him in death September 30, 2020.

He is survived by three children: son Michael (Jennifer) Pepple, Hillsboro, Tenn .; daughters: Amy (Gary) Miller, Huntingdon and Valerie (Dan) DeRose, Wexford; six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. He is survived by two sisters: Dolores (Arlan) Barkman, Martinsburg, and Connie (Chris) Emmert, Urbandale, Ia.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Ronald Pepple, and a granddaughter, Christin Pepple.

Mr. Pepple was a 1951 graduate of the former Woodbury High School. A veteran of the Korean Conflict, he served with the United States Army from 1953 until 1954 as a member of the Transportation Corps.

Upon his return from Korea, he took a position with the former Farmers State Bank in Woodbury, now Hometown Bank of Pennsylvania. He remained with the bank for 35 years, serving as manager for a number of years after Farmers State merged with the First National Bank of Everett. He retired in 1986.

Mr. Pepple enjoyed archery, hunting, gardening, and following the Pittsburgh Pirates baseball team.

A funeral took place Friday, May 6, 2022, at Stone Funeral Home in Woodbury. Interment was made in Dry Hill Cemetery with full military honors.
