First Motion Picture to Show

The first motion picture show in the new D’Ford theatre was attended by a large crowd. Mr. D’Ford hoped to give the people of Martinsburg the best pictures he could possibly procure. A special production of the “Sheik” starring Rudolph Valentino and Agnes Ayers was planned for the weekend.

William Glass of Fredericksburg was in Altoona Hospital suffering from the effects of gas received during his service in France. He was in critical condition.

Friends and neighbors assisted Jerry Haffley in raising a big barn on his farm in Hickory Bottom.

The Henrietta correspondent noted that the roads in North Woodbury township were in deplorable condition.

Assessor M. L. Acker was making his spring assessment through the village of Beavertown.

Jersey Field Day and Meeting was being held in Everett by members of the Everett Jersey Bull Association.
