The roar of the bikes will be returning to Duncansville four different weekends this summer. Debbra Heath, marketing director for Roundhouse Harley Davidson said, "We are doing four events this year: May, June, July and September."
She added that it will be very similar to what they did last year, except they will be doing only Fridays and Saturdays this year.
"We will have vendors and bands," said Heath. "One month, the demo fleet will be here. There will be stunt shows. The Wall of Death will be back. We will do a full bar with professional bartenders."
Heath explains that with their events, they are a 501(c) 3 organization.
"We do several things community-wise," Heath said. "As far as the events go, we use a lot of local bands and vendors. We don't charge our vendors anything to set up. That's our way of giving back."
Heath continued on to say that there are a variety of vendors – some of them motorcycle-related and some of them not. They vary from month to month.
"There is something here for everybody," Heath said. "You don't have to be a biker to enjoy our events. With all of the live bands, most everyone enjoys music. We kind of stick a lot to 80s and 90s rock."
According to Heath, they have organizations that use their events for fundraising purposes. One of them is The Jeffrey L Frank Memorial Scholarship Fund. Frank was an EMT or medic. His family is raising money to help send someone to become a medic.
"Our local Harley owner group raises money at our events," Heath said. "Last year, they raised money for Mending Hearts and The Humane Society. They also give to the veterans every year at Veterans Day."
Heath also said that they work a lot with the Allegheny Township Volunteer Fire Department. "They use our events to raise money for the everyday running of a volunteer fire company."
Heath added that at the end of the year, after they pay all of their expenses, if they have money left, they also donate with the first donation going to the veterans home.
The dates for the events this year are: May 27 and 28, June 24 and 25, July 29 and 30, and Labor Day Weekend.
The Sunday of Labor Day Weekend is The Burgi's Low Life Charity Run. They raise money for children with medical needs.
