Free to the Community: Computer Basics Class Coming to Bedford

The Bedford County PA CareerLink and the Federated Library System of Bedford County are pleased to partner for a basic computer course in June 2022, at the PA Careerlink office at the Bedford Business Park, 1 Corporate Drive Bedford, PA 15522.

• The no-cost course will take place over five consecutive weeks every Wednesday in June (1, 8, 15, 22, and 29), from 1 until 3 p.m.

• There will be 12 available spots for the class, and registration is on a first come first served basis.

• To register, call either the Bedford County PA CareerLink at (814) 623-6107 or the Bedford County Library at (814) 623-5010.

This introductory level class teaches people from the ground up: What is a computer? How do I turn it on and use the keyboard? How do I look up things on the internet? How do I create an email address and use it? These topics and many more will be included and computers will be available for each student to use.

“We have had around 30 people graduate from our computer courses, and we are excited to provide this opportunity at PA CareerLink for the first time,” said Library Director Matt Godissart. “This class is a great start for people to get comfortable with all of the concepts of computers, especially when it comes to applying for jobs or housing, or even just to send communications to their families or for business.”

“Knowing how to use a computer is critical for today’s job seekers,” said Gwen Fisher, PA CareerLink site administrator. “Everything from job applications, company training and benefits enrollment has largely moved to an online environment.”

Class size is extremely limited, so please call as soon as possible to register.
