M-Burg Honors Those Who Have Fallen

Citizens of Martinsburg came together on Memorial Day for a service to honor "those that fought for the freedoms we have today."

This event was put on by VFW Post 43. Scott Emerick, commander of VFW Post 43, emceed the speaking portion of the event, which took place at Morrisons Cove Memorial Park. The guest speaker was Brad Gates, decorated Marine. The opening and closing prayers were done by the Rev. Spivey of Grace Pointe.

Following the speakers, there was a parade to Fairview Cemetery. This included a wreath ceremony and gun salute.
