Veterans Honored at Memorial Day Celebration in Claysburg

Monday, May 30, at 10 a.m., a beautiful ceremony to honor veterans was conducted at Union Cemetery.

Hundreds of attendees brought their chairs and watched as the Claysburg American Legion Band, under the direction of Dan Crist, played “Onward Christian Soldiers” and “Sounds of America.” The invocation was given by Claysburg Legion Chaplain Ray Glass. Diana G. Walter Dively represented Claysburg Legion Ladies Auxiliary and did a reading.

Patriotic Music was sung by the Claysburg Community Chorus, and the attendees especially appreciated the song “Imagine” by John Lennon. Jackie C...
