Rodney Green, superintendent of the Spring Cove School District, was retiring at the end of June. Green spent 38 years working in education.

Roaring Spring Water announced that it would be acquiring Valenty Bottled Water of Northern Cambria. Valenty would become Roaring Spring Valenty Bottled Water.

A drug bust in Roaring Spring netted $180,000 of heroin after police received a tip of a courier coming to town with a large amount of drugs. The Blair County Drug Task Force members observed several deals and made arrests.
