Grounds Cleaned Up

Jesse L. Hartman, president of the Blair County Historical Association praised the volunteers who came out to clean the Dick Schoolhouse grounds. Richard L. Metzler, a history teacher at Central High School, and Mrs. Fred Stern of Loysburg organized the cleanup. The group cut down trees and mowed grass and weeds.

Volunteers who helped with activities at the Morrisons Cove Home for the Aged in Martinsburg were honored at the second annual Samaritan Banquet. Mr. and Mrs. James Geisinger of Altoona were recognized by Activities Director Gary Clapper for giving more than 3,000 hours of help to the home.

Cadet Robert J. Bulger of New Enterprise graduated from the U.S. Military Academy at West Point. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree and a commission as an air defense artillery second lieutenant.

Mr. and Mrs. Dorsey Reed of Roaring Spring were celebrating their 57th wedding anniversary with a dinner at the home of their son-in-law and daughter.
