Noise Ordinance Questioned at Woodbury

Residents complained about noise violations during last Thursday evening’s Woodbury Township meeting. A resident said that there were very loud fireworks set off over the past Memorial Day weekend as well as carbide and acetylene bombs. The resident said that those who set off bombs and fireworks must have known about ordinance because they were done by 11 p.m. The resident asked if anything could be done as she has to sedate her animals. Solicitor Aimee Willett said she would take a look at noise ordinance and offer suggestions to the township at an upcoming meeting.

Lucy Long of Ride Long Acres talked about her campsite map. The map was sent to engineer Jim Young, who was absent from the meeting. The engineer said that no action would need to be taken by the township that evening, but Solicitor Willett said that the supervisors would need a letter from Young before moving on. Willett said that the campsite could be approved at the July meeting.

Supervisors looked at the PennDOT winter agreement, which would yield the township around $8,300 for plowing PennDOT roads. No motion was made as supervisors are continuing the agreement.

The township is looking for full-time and part-time help. A CDL license is required. For more information, contact the township office for an application.

Solicitor Willett talked about the new changes coming for the subdivision and land development ordinance for the township. Willett said that she, along with engineer Young, would like to have a workshop with supervisors about their suggestions. It was discussed that it would be held at the end of June or early in July.
