Layla Beck, 11, gets fingerprinted by Freedom Township police chief Nathan Claycomb.

The VFW auxiliary in conjunction with the Claysburg, East Freedom, and Roaring Springs' police departments held the first annual "Family Freedom Festival" on Saturday, June 4.

The event took place at the East Freedom Fire Hall. It was a beautiful 70-degree day, the sun was shining and there wasn't a cloud in the sky.

Police and EMTs were at the event chatting with families and friends who came to the event. There was a table for kids to grow their own Poppies.

Kids also enjoyed the free funnel cakes that were given out, along with hot dogs. All in all the first "Family Freedom Festival"...
