Dolores J. Barkman

Dolores J. Barkman, 91, of Martinsburg, formerly of Woodbury, passed away June 5, 2022, at Homewood in Martinsburg.

She was born Jan. 24, 1931, in Woodbury; daughter of the late Emmert and Dorothy (Over) Pepple. On May 17, 1951, in Winchester, Virginia, Dolores was united in marriage to Arlan Barkman, who survives.

She was a class of 1949 graduate of Woodbury High School and a Lioness in the Cove Lions Club. Dolores was a member of the Woodbury Church of the Brethren where she served as Deaconess.

She was preceded in death by a grandson, Alex Barkman; and brothers Donald and Ronald Pepple. Surviving is her husband, Arlan; daughter, Michelyn Hatch (Richard J.) of Martinsburg; son, Dirk Barkman (Marcia) of Martinsburg; son, Lance Barkman (Tammy) of Roaring Spring; sister, Connie Emmert of Urbanville, Iowa; grandchildren, Dr. Kiel Barkman, Kella Boyer, and Logan Barkman; as well as 4 great-grandchildren.

Friends will be received on Thursday, June 9, 2022, from 10:00 a.m. until the 11:00 a.m. funeral service at the Woodbury Church of the Brethren. Pastor David Ulm will be officiating.

Interment will be in Dry Hill Cemetery.
