Cove Residents Warning Each Other Of Facebook Baseball Ticket Scams

Cove residents have been warning each other online of scams surrounding the Central Dragons Baseball team’s run for the state championship.

Numerous posts to the “Martinsburg, Pa. Then, and Martinsburg, Pa. Now” Facebook page have offered “tickets” to view the Dragons’ games either in person or online.

Clicking on of those links on Facebook can take users to malicious websites or websites that appear to sell tickets but will just take the user’s money.

Those who wish to attend the game should go to the Spring Cove School District website at https://www.springcovesd.org and click on the box at the lower left of the webpage, which reads “PIAA Baseball 3A State Championship Finals.”

After following the link, users will be provided with information about the upcoming championship game and a URL to the PIAA website to purchase tickets.

Those wishing to purchase tickets should copy the entire URL and paste into an internet browser. That will take the user to the official PIAA website offering legitimate tickets.
