Cove Hit with Record Flood

The Cove was drying out after the worst flooding since 1936 in the wake of remnants of Hurricane Agnes. Williamsburg, on the banks of the Juniata River, received the most damage in the area.
Weekly classes were being held at Nason Hospital for 26 area men who completed a training course for emergency medical technicians. The classes covered 27 hours of study of the textbook “Emergency Care and Transportation of the Sick and Injured”.
