June. This month marks the start of summer vacation, warmer weather, beach trips, and time to spend with family and friends. But, this month is also extra special for dairy farmers. Why? Because June is Dairy Month!

So, what's the deal about dairy? Why should we care about the dairy industry? For starters, Pennsylvania is home to nearly 520,000 cows producing more than 10.6 billion pounds of milk yearly! Additionally, the dairy industry supports 52,000 jobs and contributes $14.7 billion to Pennsylvania's economy. Across the United States, Pennsylvania ranks 7th in milk production.
