Roaring Spring Food Bank Helps 20 Families a Month

Roaring Spring Food Bank was started in 2010 at Saint Luke's Lutheran Church located at 401 E. Main Street Roaring Spring. The Minister for this church is Amanda McCaffery.

Ron Glunt had the idea for the food bank and got assistance from Mark and Sue Haliday. Saint Luke's Lutheran Church was the place that was willing to help with this much-needed endeavor. The food bank is located behind the church where there is a red door and signage. To sign up for this free service, go to the food bank on a Thursday between 1 and 3 p.m.

At this time, the food bank is averaging 20 families a month and needs more donations. The donations can be nonperishable items.

There is a drop off box at the site for the nonperishable items, as well as drop off sites at Roaring Spring True Value, Giant Eagle and Martinsburg Mennonite Church.

Monetary donations can be sent to Rachel-Neely Pletcher at P.O. Box 252, Roaring Spring 16673.
