South Woodbury Township Recognizes Volunteers

South Woodbury Township’s Board of Supervisors met on July 5, 2022, at 9 a.m. at the township office. All supervisors were in attendance as well as Secretary Rachel White.

The meeting was called to order, and the monthly bills and treasurer’s report ending on June 30 were reviewed and approved.

The application for County Aid-2021 Bridge Inspections was discussed. Reimbursement will be $2,368.

The sewage management program had 14 inspections and two subdivision reviews.

The board is working on a solar panel ordinance. A public meeting will be held before this is completed.

Code enforcement fees were sent for review and these fees can be passed onto the homeowner as a lien if they cannot pay.

The new IRS reimbursement rate for mileage is 62.5 cents starting July 1.

Volunteers who work on the planning committee were recognized, and a check for $100 was issued to each.

A Southern Cove Volunteer Fireman Association letter was reviewed. At present, the township donates to the association two times a year. They will review their financial report before releasing spring donations and considering any additional monies.

Budget planning for 2023 is ongoing.

The New Enterprise pump station clean out has been completed.

The PA Rural Water Meeting will be July 11, 2022, at 11 a.m.

Aging Accounts Receivable was reviewed by the supervisors.

Annual pump inspections by W.C. Weil were completed.

Recent yard sales for New Enterprise were discussed. Yard sales were very successful. Some citizens would like to include all of South Woodbury Township next year and the supervisors are considering this. The date for the annual yard sale will be given in the spring far enough ahead for people to plan for the date.

Next meeting will be Aug. 2, at 9 a.m.
