Anna Charity Gunnett

Anna C. Gunnett, 89, of Williamsburg, went home to be with her Lord, Friday morning, July 1, 2022, at home surrounded by her loving family.

She was born January 4, 1933, in Carlim, rural Williamsburg, daughter of the late Henry and Martha (Brininger) Corrigan. On June 20, 1953, she married Hubert E. Gunnett at the Cove Forge United Methodist Church, Williamsburg. He preceded her in death March 19, 2016, following 62 years of marriage.

She is survived by three daughters: Gail R. Sheetz (Charlie) of Altoona, Carol D. Bookhammer (Dave) and Kathy R. Liebal both of Williamsburg; two sons: Gary D. Gunnett (Libby) of New Bern, NC and Nathan D. Gunnett of Williamsburg; 10 grandchildren: Christina Wheeler (Rob), who was raised like a daughter in Hubert and Anna's home, Angela Bookhammer, Anthony Bookhammer, Jackie Foderaro (Tony), Erin Gunnett, Craig Gunnett (Leslie), John Liebal (Tessa), Michael Liebal, Rachel Gunnett and Sam Gunnett; six great-grandchildren: Jordyn Shultz, Jaylin and Alora Wheeler, Carter and Olivia Foderaro, and Goku Gunnett; a sister, Luella Smith of Cape Coral, Fla .; special friend, Betty Lou McCready of Martinsburg; and many special nieces and nephews, who called her "Aunt Tom".

She was preceded in death by a son, Stephen C. Gunnett; a son-in-law, Butch Liebal; two brothers: James and Joseph Corrigan; and three sisters: Ruth Corrigan, Dorothy Jackson and Marjorie McNerlin.

Anna was a 1952 graduate of Williamsburg High School. She was a faithful member of Clappertown CMA Church, rural Williamsburg, where she taught Sunday school, sang many beautiful solos and played piano for Sunday services.

Anna was also a member of Gideon International, served as treasurer for the Alliance Women, attended many events at the CMA Church Camp in Mahaffey and served as a Cub Scout den mother.

She was a loving homemaker that enjoyed bowling, picking raspberries, feeding the birds and watching the Pittsburgh Pirates, Altoona Curve and Williamsburg Blue Pirate Girls Basketball.

A funeral was held Thursday, July 7, 2022, at Clappertown CMA Church. Pastor Ed Jelliff and Brad Davis officiated. Interment was held at Royer Cemetery, Williamsburg.

Memorial contributions in memory of Anna may be given to Gideon's International or Clappertown CMA Church.
