Silver Airways of Fort Lauderdale, Fla. contracted to begin service to the Altoona-Blair County Airport on August 1. The previous carrier was Colgan Air, Inc., a subsidiary of Pinnacle Airlines Corp. Pinnacle Airlines filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy.
Directors of the Morrisons Cove Community Fair voted to suspend the fair for the second year in a row. Financial restraints were cited as the reason.
