Joseph F. Wachter, IV

New Enterprise

Joseph F. Wachter, IV, 86, of New Enterprise, passed away July 17, 2022, at the Village at Morrisons Cove.

He was born Aug. 18, 1935, in Johnstown, son of the late Joseph F. III and Gladys P. (Walter) Wachter. On Aug. 30, 1956, in New Enterprise, he was united in marriage to Alice Marie (Swartz) Wachter, who survives.

His is survived by his wife, Alice Marie Wachter; son, Joseph F. Wachter, V (wife, Chris) of Chambersburg; daughter, Lisa Parfitt (husband, John) of Sanford, Fla .; sister, Barbara Robinson; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Joseph was preceded in death by a daughter, Teresa Wachter and siblings, Gladys Shaffer and Ferdinand Wachter.

Joseph served his country, enlisting in the United States Navy. He was a steamfitter for U.S. Steel by trade and member of the Koontz Church of the Brethren. Joseph loved fishing and was a member of the Wills Mountain Archers, Hollidaysburg Sportsman’s Club, and the Southern Cove Rod and Gun Club; he was an avid hunter in his younger years.

At request of the deceased, no services will be held. Inurnment will be in Salemville Cemetery. If so desired, Memorial Contributions in Joseph’s name can be made to the Village at Morrisons Cove Benevolent Fund.
