House Destroyed by Fire

The Theodore R. Snyder house on Cross Cove Highway, west of Martinsburg, was destroyed by fire early Sunday morning. Fifteen persons, ranging in age from a 10-month old baby to a 75-year-old aunt escaped the flames. John Seiler, a son-in-law who was staying at the house was burned about the face and arms when he went into the burning house to retrieve his wallet and a photo of the Snyder’s deceased son. Marjorie Stonerook,16, a neighbor who was staying at the house with her friend Alice Snyder, was the first to notice the flames and alerted the family.
