After purchasing the Peach Hill farm and orchard in 1970, Ammon Martin began selling produce in 1972, making this year the orchard's 50th anniversary. This bench marks the year sales started at Peach Hill.
Saturday, Aug. 13, Peach Hill Orchard, located at 1086 Curryville Road, Martinsburg, will celebrate its 50th year with a Customer Appreciation Day.
Chicken barbecue will be available for purchase. Chicken will be available around 10 a.m. until sold out with the store closing at 4 p.m. The rolls served with dinner are homemade by Peach Hill's own bakery.
Each customer will also receive a free ear of corn on the cob and peach ice cream made with their very own peaches.
This store and orchard got its start when the farm was purchased in 1970 by Ammon and Ella Martin.
