Speakeasies Reported

It is reported that numerous “speakeasies” exist on the “ridges” above East Freedom. You pay five cents for a dance ticket and your whiskey or beer, as you like is served. A rushing business is carried on. The beer used at these resorts comes overland from Galitzen.

Parents having children over 8 years of age should take notice that the new school laws require all children from 8 to 13 years of age, and all others from 13 to 16 years not regularly engaged at some useful employment, to attend school from the beginning of the term and continue regularly until they have at...
