Disney Submits Resignation

Blair County Airport Manager Martha Disney submitted her resignation to the airport authority. The board did not accept her resignation, and instead tabled it until the next meeting, in the hope that Mrs. Disney could be persuaded to stay.

Northern Bedford High School students were offered the opportunity to earn early college credits through an agreement with Allegany College of Cumberland, Md. Credits earned at the college would be transferable to many other colleges and universities in the state.

Martinsburg Borough Council members were greeted with a capacity crowd at the monthly meeting as teenagers and parents wanted to discuss the issue of skateboarding and rollerblading on borough streets. Borough Council had recently taken up stricter enforcement of the law due to safety concerns, and riders and parents were petitioning the council to change the law to allow skateboarding.
