Clearfield Bank and Trust Company announced plans to build a new branch in the field beside the Dollar General in Martinsburg. The branch was expected to open by December 2012 or January of 2013.

Loyd Acker of rural Martinsburg passed away at the age of 78. Acker was remembered for his hard work on the family farm, his love of hunting, his woodworking and his fire fighting skills, especially brush fires. He’d been a forest fire warden for 55 years.
