War on Rats to Cost $700

The Martinsburg Booster Association thought the town-wide war on rats would cost $700, or two dollars per family. Several types of poisons would be used, and residents would be notified when the ones that were dangerous to pets would be used.
The Boosters were sponsoring a Mummers’ Parade for Hallowe’en night for children and young people of the community. A Hallowe’en Party for the Boosters and their wives at the Memorial Park being held as well.
