Mary E. Smith, 99, a resident at Homewood at Martinsburg, formerly of East Freedom, went home to be with the Lord Monday, Sept. 5, 2022, surrounded by her loving family.

She was born April 7, 1923, in Everett the daughter of the late Edward B. and Margaret P. (Bartholow) Lewis. She married Reuben J. Smith Feb. 21, 1941, in Maryland and he passed away Aug. 5, 2017.
