Two August Mornings

I whine that August is the toughest trout-fishing month of the traditional season. The water is generally low, clear, and often too warm for good fishing.

This August was pretty much standard - until a little after mid-month when nearly four inches of rain fell in the Cove and surrounding area. This rain provided a nice burst of moisture for farm crops. It also provided a short-lived surge of water for area streams.
