Society Meetings Begin

The winter’s round of Literary society meetings has begun. These educational and entertaining meetings are one of the best features of the community life of the Cove, and should be patronized and encouraged by every citizen.

D. W. Smith of Piney Creek was leading a bull to water when the animal suddenly attacked him and mauled him against the fence. Fortunately the post broke and startled the animal. Mr. Smith made good use of the time to escape to the other side of the fence. He suffered a broken rib and numerous bruises, and was very stiff and sore for awhile, but...
