Library Receives Grant

The Claysburg Library received grant money to be used for connecting the library to the Internet. Patrons would be limited to 30 minutes per visit when using the Internet.

The Northern Bedford Band Parents and the Northern Bedford School Board split the cost of uniforms for 93 members of the Northern Bedford High School Band. The black and white uniforms were the first new look since 1986.

Work on Acorn Cove Playground was nearly completed. Two work days remained before the grand opening.

A Roaring Spring woman was in critical condition at a Pittsburgh hospital after being stabbed and severely beaten by her ex-boyfriend. The incident occurred at her apartment in Altoona, and her assailant was taken to the Blair County Prison.

A bear that was captured and removed from the Martinsburg area and relocated to Big Valley was captured again in Huntingdon after he climbed a tree in the borough. The bear, estimated to weigh 560 pounds, was captured again and moved to Centre County.
