Dragon Soccer Narrowly Defeated

October 20, 2022

The Central Dragon Soccer team faced the Central Cambria Red Devils and the Bedford Bisons during the week. The Dragons were narrowly defeated by the Red Devils, dropping a 2-1 loss, while soon after being crushed by the Bisons in a 7-1 defeat.

Against the Red Devils, the Dragons quickly dropped a goal in the first half to be in a deficit from the start. The Dragons gave up another goal shortly into the second half as well. The Dragons nearly made a late-game comeback with an unassisted goal scored by Avery Campbell at 79:13, but the Dragons were not able to overcome the Red Devils in such a short amount of time left in the game.

Things started off with hope for the Dragons as they faced the Bedford Bisons. Shortly into the game, Bennett Kensinger scored a goal at 7:14 assisted by Christian Hueston. Things took a turn for the worse soon after, for the Dragons dropped three goals to the Bisons before the end of the half, and then gave up four more in the second half.

Now with a record of 3-12, the Dragon Soccer team will play the Bishop Carroll Huskies and the Johnstown Trojans in the upcoming week.
