Fire destroyed two barns on the Dwayne Keithly farm on Piney Creek Road on Friday, Oct. 21. There were no reported injuries.
Fire ripped through two barns and threatened a third on Friday afternoon, Oct. 21. Multiple crews responded to the 4:15 call at the Piney Creek Rd. farm owned by Dwayne Keithley and arrived to find two structures fully involved and a third in danger of catching fire.
According to Williamsburg Fire Chief Ted Hyle, a team effort of fire departments from Williamsburg, Martinsburg, Roaring Spring, East Freedom, Geeseytown, Alexandria and Marklesburg got the fire under control and saved the main barn.
"It was close to losing everything," Hyle said. "Our guys did a heck of a job."
