After serving 17 years on the Spring Cove School District School, Board President James Butler resigned at the board's regular monthly meeting on Monday, Nov. 14.

Butler first joined the board in 2002, and had a break of a couple years along the way. Butler said that with all of his children now graduated from the school district, he felt it was the right time to leave and was ready to focus on other things.

"It has been a pleasure to serve with the administration here. A great experience and I met great people. I am glad for every minute on the board," Butler said.
