Catharine Proposes Millage Increase to Assist Lack of Funds

At last month’s Catharine Township meeting, frustrated voices were heard — both from taxpayers and the roadmaster — about lack of funds for the township. During this month’s meeting held Nov. 17, township supervisors voted to increase their tax revenue. At a special meeting held earlier this month, the supervisors held a budget workshop where they worked on their budget to make up for some serious deficits they faced in the upcoming year.

The compromise was a .30 increase, which according to Township Auditor Daryl Cole, “was the least they can make it with.”
