U.S. Rep. Bud Shuster was among 75 persons who turned out at Clara’s Place in Bedford to help Rev. Robert Sweet celebrate his retirement from the position of chief executive officer at Old Bedford Village. Well-wishers hailed Rev. Sweet as instrumental in the creation of the Bedford County tourist attraction 21 years earlier.

Gary and Sherry Sipes received the Northern Bedford School District’s Community Service Award. Their company was honored for their generosity to the district and support of the sports program.
