Kensinger Assigned Superintendent

George E. Kensinger of Martinsburg, first assistant executive director of the Appalachia Intermediate Unit 8, was assigned as temporary district superintendent of the Everett Area Schools following the death of Miller C. Hood who held that position. There was no comment from either school as to whether the appointment would become permanent.

Williamsburg borough council unanimously voted to allow sledding on West Second St. hill from Tom Ake’s to Plum Street for the west end of town.. Liberty St. remained the designated area for sledding on the east end of town.

E. G. Shuster, congressman-elect, persuaded the General Services Administration to withdraw its ruling that prevented the sale of food by blind and disabled operators of vending stands in Federal Buildings.

Murray S.Smith of Martinsburg was accepted as a student at the University of PIttsburgh School of Dental Medicine. He was a 1970 graduate of Central High School, and a current student at University of Pittsburgh, majoring in Biology.
