New President of Fire Co.

George P. Emigh, Jr. of Roaring Spring was elected president of the Roaring Spring Friendship Fire Company. Mr. Emigh, a member of the fire company for 17 years, succeeded Ronald C. Smith as president. Merle G. Pote was reelected as fire chief.

Galen “Butch” Hall, a Williamsburg High School football hero and Penn State football standout during the early 1960s, was coaching his Oklahoma Sooners football team in the Sugar Bowl against Penn State on New Years Eve.
