The Herald's Annual Christmas Jingles 2022

The Herald’s annual Jingles are a little different this year. The Herald proudly presents the Jingles special section, which includes poems and art by Cove-area school students. This year we asked fourth-grade classes for their contributions.

Because we have a Christmas section this year, we are thrilled to be able to print all the submissions for our Shades of Joy contest.

For the ease of those trying to find a particular student’s effort, we’ve provided a directory.

We invite you to spend some time enjoying the Jingles written by area students. We hope they will add to your enjoyment of the Christmas season.

Sincerely,

The Herald Staff

Editor’s Note: Submissions were edited for format only. No content was changed by the Herald staff.

I would like to thank all the students who participated in this year’s Jingles. After preparing our Christmas edition last year, I knew I wanted to make this tradition even more special. This inspired our separate Jingles section.

Once again, reading poems from the Cove’s fourth graders and seeing their wonderful drawings was a highlight of my Christmas season. The cherry on top — or star on top — was the Shades of Joy contest. Thank you to the Herald’s Circulation Manager Lugene Shelly, who suggested we print every submission to showcase the talent and effort of local children and subscribers.

Merry Christmas!
