$2.5 Million Project will Connect Curryville To Martinsburg Water System

Curryville's water tower will be repainted as part of a $2.5 million project to connect Curryville's water system to the Martinsburg Municipal Authority water system. The water tower will remain as part of the system, providing storage capacity and fire protection. The tower will be refurbished by Worldwide Industries Corp. of Butler, Pa.

At least 63 Curryville municipal water supply customers will soon be getting their water from the Martinsburg Municipal Authority's system.

After years of planning and discussions, 7,500 feet of eight-inch PVC waterline is being built along State Route 866 between Martinsburg and Curryville. When completed, the line will connect Curryville's water system to the Martinsburg Authority's water system, supplying treated water to Curryville. North Woodbury Township will also benefit from the project, which will include refurbishment of some fire hydrants.
