Curtis E. Simington

East Freedom

Curtis E. Simington, 70, of East Freedom, passed away Saturday, Dec. 17, 2022, at UPMC-Altoona.

He was born Aug. 25, 1952, in Roaring Spring, son of the late Gerald E. and Dawn Bernice (Langham) Simington. He married Cheryl A. Walter on February 25, 1971, and she preceded him in death July 26, 2016.

He is survived by two daughters: Michelle Tenley and husband Thomas Sr. and Jennifer Stapleton and husband Charles, four grandchildren: Meghan and Kaycee Stapleton and Cassandra Deasey and husband Jeremy and Thomas Tenley Jr. and wife Alisha, four great grandchildren: Kyra, Keegan, Quintin and Cali, three sisters: Dorothy Zeak, Shirley Snively and Gerri Heidler and a brother Douglas Simington.

Curtis was a 1970 graduate of Central High School, where he was member of the FBLA. He retired as a supervisor from Conrail in 2001, where he was a member of the union and served as a representative.

Curtis enjoyed hunting, auctions, flea markets, collecting antiques and spending time with his grandchildren.

A funeral will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, December 22, 2022, at Leslie-Miller Funeral Home, Claysburg, (www.lesliemillerfuneralhome.com). Pastor Robert VanNatta will be officiating. Interment will be at Greenfield Cemetery.
