The December Hollidaysburg Area Community Partnership (HACP) monthly meeting began with an update from the new Director of Marketing Alyssa Barilar. Barilar reported that the downtown merchant holiday window decorating contest had 29 participants. Facebook posts from the HACP encouraged people to vote for contestants. Keller Engineers was leading at the time of the meeting with 52 votes. Barilar has already started working on flyers/information for next year’s contest. She will be working with Lightner Communications to promote any end-of-year events/promotions.
The executive committee met with Bill Arrowood from PA Downtown. Another meeting has been scheduled for January with HACP board members, Melanie Ramsey from the Hollidaysburg Borough Council, and Kerrie Kinzle from the Merchants Association. Arrowood suggested chairs of the committees commit to specific events to work on at the beginning of the year. He also suggested there is significant grant funds available for various projects.
The marketing/program committee gave an update on the video project. The video of downtown Hollidaysburg is done and uploaded to the Google Drive. There was a mixer held at Mimosa Inn on Dec. 14 from 5 to 7 p.m.
The membership committee will be sharing a letter to accompany the HACP membership application. Once the letter is approved by the board, HACP will begin their membership drive.
The Facebook page revealed 52 new followers with 686 page visits and 11,000 people were reached with posts. Instagram reached 378 people, had 136 visits and gained 32 new followers.
During reorganization, three seats were up for term renewal. Pam Jones, Jared Keller, Mandy Baker, and Toni Kroko were appointed to the board for a three-year term.
Bob Gildea made a motion to renew terms. There are still two vacancies for board positions. Possible recruits will be discussed at the January meeting.
Don Delozier nominated Dr. Bob Gildea for president of the HACP board, Becki Hollen for Vice President, Pam Jones Treasurer, and Jodie Albarano Secretary. They were unanimously approved.
Meeting days and times for next year will be determined at the January meeting.
