New Veterinary Practice Announced

Herald of Jan. 8, 1948

Dr. George E. Espy announced plans to open a veterinary practice in Morrisons Cove. A graduate of Penn State and the University of Penn, he served in the veterinary corps of the Army, stationed in Newfoundland, Iceland, and the Azores.

Windows in Martinsburg, Henrietta and Clover Creek rattled Monday night, and a distant rumbling noise was reported in the area. No official report of seismic activity activity was received at the Herald office. A rumor that the Pennsylvania Electric Plant in Williamsburg exploded was untrue, as was the rumor that there was a cave-in in the Cove.

Mr. and Mrs. Harold E. Ritchey and daughter Nora Suzanne, returned last week from Wheeling W. Va. where they had spent several weeks at the home of Rev. and Mrs. Earnest E. Noll. Mr Ritchey, a paraplegic veteran of World War II, and his family moved this week into the Gavigan bungalow, East Allegheny Street, Martinsburg.
