Cove-area fire departments have released their 2022 statistics with some departments reporting an increase in calls from the previous year while others saw their numbers go down.

The Friendship Volunteer Fire Company ended the year with 390 calls, up from 381 in 2021, which was an increase from 276 in 2020. Of those, 142 were in the borough and Taylor Township, 95 were in East Freedom, and the rest spread out aiding other companies. Friendship Chief James Musselman said they spent approximately 1,500 man-hours on calls in 2022.
