In facing two more opponents, the Central Dragon basketball team continued its dominance of the schedule up to this point. The Dragons pulled out a 55-37 victory over the Bellwood-Antis Blue Devils and a 58-40 victory over the Bedford Bisons.
Against the Blue Devils, the Dragons took a small lead early in the game, but kept it throughout the entirety of the match. After outscoring the Blue Devils by 16 in the second quarter, a 27-8 halftime lead fed the Dragons’ confidence. Central scored another 20 in the third quarter before backing off to finish out the game. Eli Lingenfelter led with 21 points and four three-pointers. Eli Muthler had 10 points as well in the Dragon victory. The Central JV team also found a victory with a score of 40-26. High scorer was Mark Bettwy with nine points.
The outcome against the Bisons was no different. The Dragons came out firing, jumping to an 18-8 lead after the first quarter, and a 29-17 halftime lead. The Dragons kept the pressure up throughout the second half as well to come out on top. Lingenfelter led with a game-high 30 points with another four three pointers. The Dragon JV team was victorious against the Bisons as well. After an 18-18 tied halftime score, they held the Bisons to solely two points in the second half for a 37-20 victory. High scorer was Mason Byler with seven points.
Jumping to a 9-0 record, the Dragons now prepare for the grueling, three-game week ahead of them with matches against the Forest Hills Rangers, the Westmont Hilltop Hilltoppers, and the Bishop McCourt Crushers.
